Located in the east-central part of the Orange Walk District. Focal points are a
well-preserved mask of a Maya ruler emerging from a crocodile headdress. El
Castillo rising 108 feet, is one of the largest pre-classic structures in the
Maya area. This site was continuously occupied from 1500BC – AD1675.

Spend the day exploring the Cayo district. An amazing view to Guatemala and surrounding rainforest. We start the day departing Caye Caulker at 6:30am. Our guide will take us an hour and half journey to San Ignacio. We make a few stops along the way to enjoy Belize countryside. We cross the Mopan River by ferry to take a walking tour of the ruins. After we are ready for lunch in San Ignacio town. This trip can be combined with Cahal Pech Mayan Ruins or Cave Tubing.

CAR RENTAL - EXPLORE ON YOUR OWN I highly recommend exploring Belize on your own. It is lots of fun. Take a drive to San Ignacio, on route stop in at Belize Zoo, cave tubing or zipline just to name a few. Take a break in Belmopan and enjoy a local lunch at the market. Journey onwards to San Ignacio town and take a detour through Spanish Lookout Menonite Community. End the day at Cahal Pech Cabins in San Ignacio, enjoy dinner by the pool and take in the view of town. The next day is waiting for you to explore Mayan Ruins, jungle trails, waterfalls and more. Renting a car is a great way to do what you want and when. Expect to pay minimum $75USD per 24 hour period to rent a car. A weekly rate is about $450USD. GST is 10% extra. There is also optional insurance. Most places offer unlimited kilometers and refill gas when finished. Gas is approximately $10BZ a gallon. Tickets can be purchased at water taxi, Belize City and various shops and internet cafes in Caye Caulker. You can also rent a car with Crystal Auto Rental and drive to the ruins.
